We love an M-designated 2 Series here at Revellion and the M235i is no exception, especially with the rare manual 'box and in the timeless Estoril Blue (is there a better colour for a fast BMW??).
With around 320hp on tap from its 6-cylinder turbo, driven to the rear wheels via the 6-speed manual, these things are a hoot to drive. They sound fantastic, they handle superbly, they feel lightweight and nimble, and yet they can settle down nicely and cruise comfortably and quietly when asked. A more accessible and friendly "Diet M2" is probably a fair summary.
This particular example was picked up by its last owner in July 2022 and he was clearly a bit of an afficionado, having had the car serviced 7 times in his 20,000 mile ownership., alternating between oil services and major services and each time including a vehicle health check. Really good to see. Prior to that, we also have invoices for a further oil service and a major service earlier in the car's life, along with evidence of new front discs and pads in April 2024, the very common BMW airbag recall being done in October 2024 and a VHC at a BMW main dealer in late 2023.
In our care, we have given the car a full 60 point pre-delivery inspection, which included replacing the rear brake pads and wear sensor, pollen filter, rear shock, a brand new catalytic converter (££ ouch!) and a full MOT.
The car drives very well indeed. The engine pulls hard, there are no knocks or noises from the suspension, it drives (and brakes) straight and true.
Inside, everything works and the car is a wonderful place to sit. Coral Red Dakota leather, aluminium accents, heated seats, sun protection glazing, folding/dimming mirrors and bluetooth phone preparation see to that; it's a very nice spec. Additionally, the car has been fitted with a very cool P3 digital air vent gauge which allows the driver to very easily monitor a multitude of vehicle health measures such as coolant temperature, boost pressure, battery voltage, air intake temperature and ignition timing. Once again, a clue as to the previous owner's passion for the car.
On the outside, the car presents very well. Being nearly 10 years old there are one or two small blemishes but nothing unexpected and that couldn't be sorted very easily over time, should the new owner feel the need.
